Very cool location although don’t expect to see any animals here. It is a rare occurrence so do not go by the pictures that are posted. Beside a few birds, a cayman and a piranha there was nothing else to see. Nelson was an amazing tour guide despite this.
The food was probably the best we had in all of Brazil. We really could not believe it given the remote location. It was simply the best! There is filtered water available during your entire stay so no need to worry. The restaurant is open all night for you to get water.
The downside of the rooms is that there are only 2 with air conditioning - the largest suites. Fans are provided and the doors/windows to the patio are screens. While this may not normally be an issue, there were so many fires in the Amazon during our stay from lightning and people burning that you could only breathe smoke all the time. Our lungs hurt quite badly but there was little we could do. The smoke is lower over night so you may want to wear a mask just to sleep. It isn’t under their control but as this is becoming the norm in the Amazon, we felt that all of the rooms should be converted to air conditioning and sealed. Also there are spaces in the floorboards so insects are still able to get into the room. There is also boat traffic that goes all day which wasn’t expected.
You've got to experience the Juma Amazon Lodge, it's an absolute adventure from start to finish! My day began with a convenient pick-up from my hotel at around 7am. The journey there was an adventure in itself – first a 30-minute speedboat ride, then a bus for about an hour and a half, and finally another hour on a speedboat. The trip to Juma Lodge Hotel is something I'll never forget.
The tree houses at the lodge are a marvel – it's like living in an enchanting forest. I stayed in a room with an incredible jungle view. The beds? Super comfy. And cleanliness? Immaculate. They don’t have windows, but instead, these clever mosquito-proof screens kept us comfortable all night. Even though there were no windows, the room stayed really cool, thanks to the ceiling and floor fans.
One unexpected perk? The slightly acidic water in the area means hardly any mosquitoes! The bathroom was just as impressive, complete with a modern shower box and luxurious amenities like high-quality shampoo, body wash, and conditioner.
Now, let’s talk about the food. Chef Luis is a genius. His dishes could easily give any top restaurant in Manaus a run for its money. He uses fresh ingredients, and the flavors are just bursting. They took care of my dietary needs without a hitch, making every meal from the welcome lunch to the breakfast on my last day absolutely spectacular.
Leon, our guide, was incredibly helpful. He made sure everyone was comfortable and made all our excursions, like hiking in the jungle and spotting wildlife, absolutely incredible. Joabi was always around, ensuring everyone was safe and included.
Seriously, you have to visit Juma Amazon Lodge. It’s an experience like no other!
We had the best holiday ever at Juma Amazon. We are from Brazil but we live in Australia and going to the amazon was the best experience we could have had. We spent 10 days there and everything was absolutely perfect. The staff, the structure and the food, everything was wonderful.
Annie the manager was so lovely since day 1, like everyone else, Cida the owner is a legend and helped us out with everything we needed.
If you like to go deep in the jungle and have a very unique experience with the nature I highly recommend this place. Our guide Hernan had so much knowledge and made it even more special. Sandro also took us to catch the best fish in the Amazon. Thank you to all staff and to make our engagement so unique and special.
its is a fake place. Just only a trap. take care about receive message from some cell number proposing you money. the number that I received message eas from USA.
You can see in the photos. All of them are fake. take care about it
It's remote and down to earth friendly made with local wood . Wish there were ac but I can't complain about it!
Such a terrible experience. Absolute lack of management, operational discipline and service to guests. The Amazon is a fantastic trip and our guide Hernan was fantastic… having said that - a hotel worth 1,000 usd per night is definitely not what we got. Here’s why:
1) Very poor service: a lot of staff, but poorly trained and not managed. Ordering a beer or caipirinha took +50 min.
2) Food: they only had rice and beans + the restaurant was being remodeled so you had to take turns to eat in a room that was temporarily being used to serve guests.
3)Management: Employees are not coordinated, they seemed lost at all times. They were polite but at times they’d literally sleep in hotel common areas.
4) Remodelation. You cannot open a 1,000 usd/ night hotel when all the social areas are under construction. You cant expect to give a good service wiht everything close, and still charge the same.
5) safety: someone in our group got stung by some bug at night. We were looking for help from the hotel staff for over an hour. Nobody was around, literally!
Such a bad hotel.
CRAZY the lack of management, operational discipline and gust attention. Amazonas is beautiful and our guide Hernan was amazing. Having said that, this hotel should cost 50USD per night, not 1000USD per night. I suggest you stay somewhere else. Why?
1) Service terrible: Ton of staff, poorly trained and not managed. Talking al time, not serving people, 45min for a beer, on average. This is true.
2) Food: Well... where to start. You pay 1000 a night to get rice and beans. We had a specially bad experience because they were remodelating the restaurant (how on earth you open a hotel of 1000USD a night with a restaurant under construction) and the food was quite limited and not good.
3)Management: Everyone is talking, like lost. Employees are not coordinated, they are not trained for tourism. They are very nice and kind, for sure, but not trained at all.
4) Remodelation. You cant open a hotel when all the social areas are under remodelation. You cant expect to give a good service wiht everything close, and still charge the same. This is ridiculous.
It was an amazing journey! You can get the best first breath of Amazon. Everything was well arranged, you got enough time to rest, foods are so fresh and healthy! You won’t want to miss this. Even doing nothing, rest in the hammock is also …
